What is a Foundational Shift?

To understand any dysfunction or abnormal health issue, you must first understand what is considered NORMAL. Similar to normal blood pressure, eye-sight, and body temperature  – the objective measurements used at Foundation Chiropractic establish whether or not your spine is within the normal range. If the spine’s foundation is not within a normal range, you may experience one or more of the following secondary conditions (symptoms):

  • Migraine/headache
  • TMJD (jaw pain)
  • Neck Pain
  • Back Pain
  • Vertigo
  • Dizziness
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Meniere’s disease

The upper bones of the neck function similarly to the foundation of a house because:

  • They support the weight of the head.
  • They protect the brain stem.

Bottom line: The brain controls every function in the body. Communication through the brain stem is how the brain coordinates muscle function, organs, cells, tissues, and healing.

It’s easy to understand how these segments in the neck act as the foundation for the rest of the human body. If this foundation shifts, obstruction in communication between the brain and body occurs, which can compromise essential bodily functions leading to a myriad of secondary conditions.
